    Economics is the study of scarcity. Due to the fact that we live in a world with a limited amount of resources, which we need to plan and prepare for. It is also the study of decision making, incentives and trade-offs.

  2. What is Economics?
    Economics is the study of how societies make the most of limited resources to produce valuable outcomes.

    What tests?
    Economics SL has the Essay Paper and Data Response.
    Structure of paper 1:
    Section A, where you choose 1 question out of 2, which covers Microeconomics part of the syllabus.
    Section B, where you choose 1 question out of 2, which covers Macroeconomics part of the syllabus.
    Each question in both A and B sections consists of two (a) and (b) parts, which are compulsory. Part (a) will usually be an “explain” type of question. Part (b) will mostly be a “discussion” or “evaluation” type of question.
    Structure of paper 2:
    Section A, where you choose 1 question out of 2, which covers International Economics part of the IB Economics syllabus.
    Section B, where you choose 1 question out of 2, which covers Development Economics part of the IB Economics syllabus.

  5. Economics is the study of : facts that influence income, wealth and well-being ; trade-off ; decision making ; incentives. Also it is a social science which incorporates maths and statistics as well as having connection with the physical sciences and other.

  6. Economics is the study of scarcity, the study of how people use resources, and the study of the choices that people make.

    There are three papers for HL, and SL only have to do the first two.

    The first paper consists of two parts, each part focusing on either macro or micro economics. There you choose two out of four questions that you want to answer, you must pick one question from each section. This questions should be answered in essay format. This is 1.5 hours long. The essays should be 4-6 pages each.

    The second paper is consists of two parts. The first part focuses on International Economics, and the second focuses on Development Economics. This paper is also 1.5 hours long. Once again, there are four questions, which you must pick two out of, one from each section.

    The third paper is only for HL. You must pick two out of three questions, that can be asking you about any part of the course. This is a 1 hour long paper.

  7. The study of economics is the study of incentives, choices and scarcity which results in the study of income, wealth and wellbeing.

    External exams are usually in the first week of may.
    Paper 1 is 1 hour and 30 minutes long with a selection of two questions out of 4 given questions. Out of the 4 given questions, there will be 2 micro and two macro questions. The student has to select one microeconomic and one macroeconomic question to handwrite an essay for.

    Paper 2 is 1 hour and 30 minutes long with four parts and four subsection within each part. There will be handwritten responses based on the topics of international economics and development economics.

    Internal assessment are commentaries on articles, with the maximum of 750 words max and there is an exam per chapter.

    Internal Assessments are worth 20%
    External Assessments are worth 80%

    External Exam-first week of may-80% od grade: 3 papers for HL, 2 Papers for SL. First 2 papers are 1 hour 30 minutes long, last paper is 1 hour long.

  11. Economics is the study of how societies use scarse resources and how they are distributed throughout society. influencing the economy, wealth and wellbeing.

    The external exams are usually in the first week May of 2018. There are three papers of Hl students. The first two are 1 and a half hours long while the third is an hour.

    Paper 1 is a selection of 4 questions (2 macroeconomic, and 2 microeconomic) , two of which must be chosen. Of those two one must be about micro and the other must be macro questions. The questions must be answered in essay form.

    Paper 2 is a two part paper. The first part is on International Economics, while the second is on Developmental Economics.

    The final assessment is internal and consists of any chosen article and your response to it. It has a maximum of 750 words.

    this means that you must be extremely organized and keep topics and sections in separate folders in order to study every aspect of the entire course.

    The grades of the assessments are:
    20% for the internal assessment
    80% for the external assessment

  12. The study of economics is divided between scarcity, choices and incentives. The aim of economics in IB is to create a better and more peaceful world.
    The final exam is composed of three papers.
    The first paper lasts one hour and 30 minutes. The students has the choice between 4 questions (2 macroeconomics and 2 microeconomics) related with the topics studied during the year. The student must pick one question in each type of economic.
    The second paper is also an hour and a half long, and is divided in two parts : one about international economics and the other one about development economics.
    The third paper is reserved for economics HL students. It's an hour long assessment in which the student has to pick two out of three question.
    During exams, answers should not expend to more than 750 words.

    Moreover there are internal assessment given by the school in which the student studies, and then external assessment given by the IBDP program.

    we will be learning the paper 1 for 1st year, that the scheduling will be rush a bit, but you said we will take it slowly for a couple weeks or months.
    There are 10 parts, the test about 4 parts, so be good at 8 parts. do well in understanding after each chapter.

  18. Economics can be described as the study of incentives, scarcity or choices. The overall aim for the IB Diploma is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. In other words, the purpose of the IB diploma is not only to educate us but to ensure that we are positive members of society.

    The final exam that will take place on May 2nd and 3rd of 2018 consists of three papers.

    External Exams (make up 80% of your grade)

    The first paper (1 hour 30 min) consists of four questions. Out of the four, the student must choose two to answer in essay format. This section of the exam makes up 30% of your grade.

    The second paper (1 hour 30 min) will consist of four questions, each with four subsections. Once again, the student must pick two out of the four questions to answer. This will make up 30% of your grade.

    The third paper (1 hour) is mostly math based. It consists of three questions of which the student will pick two to answer. It will count for 20% of your final grade.

    Internal assessment:
    Consists of three commentaries on various news articles (max 750 words) It will count for 20% of your final grade.
